It all began with a motor and two wheels…

… for as long as I can remember, all I wanted to do was ride my dirt bike. My deep rooted passion for the sport of motocross has lead me to where I am today.

Sports, Mentors and Family…

…it was actually the sport of football, a trainer, and my family that lead me down the path of personal training. My parents invested in me to work with a personal trainer to help me reach my aspiration to play college football. However, just after one training session, I was inspired and immediately knew that I wanted to be a personal trainer. Before I knew it, I feel in love with the job and all that comes with it. My desire to help people through fitness and exercise grows each and every day. I truly enjoy the ability to connect with people through proper training and teaching.

The best years of your life, the college experience…

… I had one goal: To get in, learn and be engaged, and get out. While in college, the material I was learning in my courses, fueled my fire to understand more about training and the body. My college had endless opportunities such as: VO2 max testing, exercise physiology clubs, and volunteering to be in graduate studies. I took advantage of these opportunities, as it solidified my love for the field and passion to soon be part of it. Since my college also required completion of a quarter long internship, my journey to California, Platinum Fitness, and with my mentor Peter Park began. Following the internship, I was offered a full time position as a trainer at Platinum Fitness.

A home away from home…

…is what Platinum and Santa Barbara have been for me. A welcoming team of mentors and a family that is passionate, engaged, and motivated to do their best every day is what I have been grateful to be a part of. Platinum has been a place that has shown me what training is all about and I embrace the learning opportunities around me whenever I have the chance to. At Platinum, you will also be part of this team, where we strive for results, proper mechanics, feeling better, and reaching your goals.

Meeting a client for the first time…

… is when the fun begins. Looking at aspects of training, such as: posture, gait, and the position of the body, indicates to me the starting point of our training. The client’s goals and health history is what dictates the direction of the program. While the aspects of training are important, I value the relationship I have with my clients, as it is vital in their success and happiness in working together to reach their goals. Ultimately, it is through the combination of my personal investment and active engagement, as well the dedication and passion the client has to the program, that will lead to success!

Just when you think you know it all…

… you realize how little you know. That’s the great part about being in a field that allows you to meet and work with a variety of clients and learn from the mechanics and systems of the body, as everybody is unique. Overall, one part of being a successful personal trainer is knowing the facts, doing the research, studying material, and continuing your education. The other part is the application of what you have learned. Nnot only what you see going on in the mechanics of the body, but what the client is saying they are feeling.

The Postural Restoration Institute …

… is an aspect of training that has shown me what truly is going on in the body, outside of what is visible to the naked eye. The emphasis on testing, inhibiting, and facilitating muscles and positions are the stepping stones to seeing results in the body.

A gym like no other …

… is the gym you want to be at. Outdoors, an ocean view, a diverse group of trainers, and a proven strong brand is what Platinum Fitness is all about. Rather your goals are general fitness, education, pain relief, or athletic performance, we have the tools to achieve them. Come see for yourself!

I have been working with Daniel at Platinum fitness for the last 8 months. We set very specific goals at our first session and have met them all. I continue to work out with Daniel 2-3 times per week because coming into Platinum is a huge stress reliever and I know I am doing something to benefit my long term health, fitness, and improve my tennis game. The hour goes by quickly and I leave energized for the rest of the day. Daniel is very conscientious about proper technique and can give verbal cues to maximize each movement and repetition. Each session, he is prepared with a written work out tailored specifically to me and my fitness goals. The workouts are varied and never repetitive or boring. He knows exactly how hard to push me to maximize my time in the gym.

Daniel is very knowledgeable and is continuously taking classes and bringing that knowledge into our training sessions. At Platinum, we benefit from the outdoor space and can work out in the fresh air, equipment is well maintained and clean.
The only negative is that since working with Daniel I have had to buy all new pants as my old ones are now too big

I’ve been working out with Daniel now for about 10 months and he’s an excellent trainer. When we started my goals were to get rid of the chronic back pain I had due to a disc problem and injury prevention as I play tennis about 4x a week. I’ve now been pain free for quite some time, rarely even get the little nagging aches & pains and I even lost about 15 pounds and move much better and more freely. Daniel puts a lot of thought and care into each of his clients needs and how to best help them. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Having had personal trainers prior to Daniel, along with Pilates and boot camps, I can honestly say that he surpasses all of my other trainers. Daniel is extremely knowledgeable, always alert to potential injuries and has a personalized routine geared toward current “aches and pains.” He is the consummate professional; an added bonus is he is also one of the kindest guys you’ll ever meet.
